Rod Poole is currently Chief Change and Business Transformation Officer at the Standard Bank Group, South Africa. He is a member of the Group Executive Committee/Leadership Council and the Corporate and Investment Banking Stratco and is a board member of Standard Advisory Services (London), Standard Bank Mauritius and Standard Bank Eswatini. Rod has spent most his career in Corporate and Investment Banking.

Rod has spent the last three years partnering the Chief Executive of the Group on a “future ready” strategy where this Financial Services Group transforms into a platform business through creating a place where producers and consumers can come together in interactions that create value for all parties. At the same time the Group is establishing Ecosystems that create a network of participants and devices (IOT) combining SBG’s own offerings with that of partners to provide its customers with solutions that extend beyond banking - for individuals in both their personal and business lives. In this regard Rod has worked in partnership with MIT, Oliver Wyman, Salesforce and Deloittes and various tech and innovation organizations.
