Lourens joined RMB in April 2019 as part of the Africa team and has been Head of Africa Trading since August 2020. Before that he spent 3 years with Atlas Mara in Dubai as the Head of Trading. He started his trading career at ABSA Capital in 2009, with a focus on foreign exchange, fixed income and derivatives markets in Africa. Lourens hold a Bsc(Hons) degree in Actuarial and Financial mathematics from the University of Pretoria. He is also a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder.
